To celebrate the holidays, CHANEL has created a limited-edition case decorated with snowflakes that contains N°5 Eau de Parfum, along with N°5 The Body Oil in a bottle whose silhouette evokes that of the iconic scent.
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel asked Ernest Beaux to develop a “woman’s perfume, with a woman’s scent.” The perfumer presented her with a visionary expression that made unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle chose the fifth sample and decided to name it simply N°5. For this new composition, she selected a flacon with a revolutionary design, adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted cabochon. In 1986, Jacques Polge reinterpreted his predecessor’s work to imagine a fuller version of the now and forever fragrance: the Eau de Parfum.
